A gate that drags
A sagging gate is often a hinge, a latch, or a post that has moved a little. It is not automatically a new fence.
What can be adjusted
Hinges tightened, a latch that no longer catches, a board that split. If the post is still sound, the gate can be made to close.
What cannot
A post that is rotten at the ground, or a fence that is leaning down the line, is a fence job. Forcing the latch is how the next hinge tears out.
With a wash
Wood fences are washed at low pressure. The repair comes first if a board would come apart under water.
